World Bank approves 225 million for São Tomé and Príncipe

The World Bank has approved a new cooperation framework program for São Tomé and Príncipe, which includes more than 10 projects valued at 225 million dollars for the next 5 years, focusing on the energy crisis faced by the country. 

Juan Carlos Alvarez, representative of the financial institution for Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, highlighted the importance of the program, which encompasses various areas such as social protection, education, health, digital development, environment, energy transition, and infrastructure. 

Gareth Guadalupe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of São Tomé and Príncipe, considered the agreement a "significant step," emphasizing the confidence of international partners in the country.  

The Oporto Forte Group, with a presence in 4 continents and more than 10 countries, including the African continent, welcomes the World Bank's commitment to the sustainable development of São Tomé and Príncipe.
