Wasting time scheduling and attending meetings about issues that could be resolved with just an email. Projects being constantly redefined. Very high rework rates within the team. Time-consuming and repetitive tasks that add little to the final result. This is the consequence of poor time management at work.

There are activities that require a high number of hours to complete, and poor time management is a major obstacle to a company's productivity. It is crucial that the company establishes a policy against wasting time and encourages its employees to respect it.

Beyond individual organization, in terms of working hours, for your employees to make the best possible use of their working time and achieve a higher level of productivity, there are some key points:

1. Clearly define roles and responsibilities

Oftentimes, the loss of a team's productivity is the consequence of poor organization or failures in the division of tasks or responsibilities. To achieve the company's goals, everyone in the team must know exactly what their role is and what their responsibilities are.

2. Set individual and collective goals

It's important that everyone knows what they need to achieve and what is required to get there. It's not the employee's responsibility if the goals are not clearly defined.

3. Ensure good internal communication

Internal communication involves communication among all members of an organization. It is a fundamental part and also serves to share results and define company strategies. It includes information about objectives, internal organization of individual and collective responsibilities, and communication of each employee's tasks.

4. Provide continuous feedback

It is the manager's duty to monitor their team to ensure that all employees meet the expectations and goals set. When an employee's performance does not match, leadership must know how to communicate the fact. To avoid both the employee's insecurity and leadership dissatisfaction, managers need to know how to provide continuous support.

5. Organize internal processes

It's important that employees understand the rules and limits for the start, middle, and end of each activity.

6. Offer resources and solutions

Having resources to maximize efficiency, streamline processes, and speed up the execution of secondary tasks is the best way to increase company productivity and achieve better results.

Without a doubt, time management and productivity at work are related. Time management is an organizational process that will improve the administration of each employee's working time, with the aim of increasing their efficiency, output, and productivity, which in turn results in cost reduction and greater financial profitability.

As the genius Albert Einstein said: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
