Oporto Forte is pleased to inform about a promising governmental initiative that represents a great opportunity for Portuguese companies. The Portuguese government is making available a support package worth 150 million euros, focused on boosting the international promotion of companies and the qualification of workers. This is a significant step within the Portugal 2030 framework, aimed at strengthening the economy and increasing the competitiveness of Portuguese companies in the global market.
Of these funds, 60 million euros are specifically allocated to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their internationalization journey. By the end of the first quarter of 2024, 9 lines of support will be launched with the aim of assisting various sectors in individual and collective projects. The first call for proposals, endowed with 18 million euros, will focus on promoting the internationalization of SMEs, increasing their international recognition and export capacity, and facilitating access to new markets.
In addition, 89.5 million euros will be allocated for worker training. This new measure aims to take advantage of production downtime to promote worker qualification, thus contributing to the increase in productivity and competitiveness of companies. The first two competitions related to this measure are scheduled to be launched at the end of October. This support is part of the Medium-Term Agreement for the Improvement of Incomes, Wages, and Competitiveness, reflecting a commitment to the sustainable development of the Portuguese economy.
