Under the theme "Portugal, a world in one country", the Portugal Pavilion aims to convey Portugal's multiculturalism, the history of Portuguese discoveries and its eternal connection with the sea.
The Pavilion covers more than 1,800 square metres, with each space revealing unique elements that trace Portugal's identity and tradition. The designs and geometries of the pavement, which covers the floor of the Square, transport visitors to the Portuguese streets; the art of the Azulejo tile shows the unmistakable Arab origins of the hand-painted mosaics; and our world-famous cork is transformed into furniture and outdoor seating areas, as a perfect example of innovation.
The Pavilion is divided into two floors and four conceptual areas: 'Presentation', 'Welcome', 'Experience' and 'Relationship'.
The ground floor is treated as an extension of the public space, introduces the theme of Portugal's participation and includes a performance area, a small cafeteria, a protocol area and the Portugal Concept Store.
The first floor contains the exhibition route, which is divided into an immersive multimedia show area and an interactive area with content on the themes of Sustainability, Opportunity and Diversity, embodying Portugal's positioning in these areas.
The second floor consists of the restaurant and terrace, with panoramic views over Jubilee Park, and a multi-purpose space that can take on various configurations, including a stage for intimate concerts.
